Paul is a highly experienced Creative Director, a classically trained design graduate from SCAT in 1997. He fulfils the primary role of directing and guiding the studio’s conceptual output and ensures exceptional quality in design execution and effectiveness across the team. Paul founded Ascend Studio in 2006 as an experimental brand house which quickly developed into one of the most respected brand consultancies in London. He holds a National Diploma in Design & Art History, a Higher National Diploma in Visual Communication (SCAT) and a BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design (UWIC) and as worked previously with IDEO, DLKW and Sotheby’s.
With over 20 years experience working within the design industry, Jim manages the delivery of Ascend Studio’s client design communications and brand strategies. Jim’s portfolio covers most industry sectors, but his main focus in recent years has been delivering robust creative design solutions within the services sector. Bringing big brand thinking to both analogue and digital platforms for clients including: the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, ING and Credit Suisse.
Rhiannon is a highly qualified, competent and experienced Account Manager and client liaison officer. She is hands on in all aspects of client schedules and provides a clear and consistent link between key stake holders, our directors, the design team and our external suppliers. Essentially she is the glue that holds it all together to ensure deadlines are hit, quality is maintained and budgets are managed; ensuring the successful project delivery that we are proud of.
Stuart joined Ascend Studio team in 2016 after a hop across the Atlantic from a senior creative role at a successful independent branding and design agency based in Toronto, Canada. His classic industry education was completed in the UK at a leading graphic design university where he completed his degree. Since joining the studio, Stuart has specialised in both premium print design projects, as well as delivering some of the most complex and detailed online brand experiences.
James strives to create communications that are clear, relevant and visually engaging. His fresh, open and approachable attitude provides clients with meaningful, strategic visual solutions as well as deep-thought solutions. Over the past 10 years, James has developed his skills working for a wide variety of industries: from the Arts and Music through to Corporate, Education & Public Sector, across both traditional and digital mediums.
Kane studied graphic design and creative advertising at Falmouth University up to Masters level. After gaining experience within some of London’s most respected creative agencies, Kane joined the team at Ascend Studio in early 2017. In the time he has been with us, he has excelled in brand development and activation projects that he has confidently handled, delivering robust strategic design solutions.
Dom joined Ascend Studio in March 2019 as a junior designer having graduated in 2018 from the University of Portsmouth with a BA Honours degree in Graphic Design. As a hands-on creative, Dom excels in typography (including letterpress) and editorial design as well as brand development and concept generation. He brings a youthful energy and an astute perspective to his work and has already proved himself to be an invaluable member of the Ascend Family.
Craig’s digital expertise encapsulates the full spectrum of industry knowledge; from system architect and web strategist to technical lead and project manager. His ability to empathise with client requirements, whilst appreciating the technical aspects of delivery make him a huge asset within Ascend Studio. Craig has recently delivered digital projects within the following sectors: recruitment, tourism, not-for-proﬁt, education, fashion and real estate.
